Westfield Shopping Centres are on the hunt this season…

On Saturday a group of lovely local bloggers and I gathered at Whitford City Shopping Centre to hunt down our #mosthunted pieces for SS14.
Armed with a $200 gift card and a time limit of 45 mins we were let loose in the Whitford City Shopping Centre. Now I like to consider myself a bit of a professional shopper so this challenge sounded like a piece of cake, but I have to admit it was difficult! I was running from store to store and found so many new season styles I loved that narrowing it down to create one outfit had me feeling a tad flustered!!

In the end I settled on this monochrome look, a black bustier layered over a white shirt, combining two of my #mosthunted pieces. (I told you I had trouble choosing!)
After the hard work(!!) was done we were treated to makeup touch ups, hair styling and cupcakes (an essential photoshoot item) to prepare for our photo shoot.
If you want to check out all the looks from the day they will be on display at Whitford City very soon!

Thanks so much to Mikey and the team at Whitfords for such a fun afternoon!!

Westfield Whitford City will be hosting Fashion Saturday this weekend so be sure to head in and join the hunt (and the fun!)

The Edit: Off the Shoulder

As we officially welcome Spring into our lives once more, it is time to start preparing for the sunny days ahead. (Although, who am I kidding? I’ve been ready for Spring since the first of June!)

Today’s edit is all about the style that is making a comeback. Yep, I bet you thought the ‘off the shoulder’ trend had died a few decades ago, but as the temperature (very slowly) rises and we look forward to the warmer weather, baring your shoulders is taking off!

Will you dare to bare (your shoulders) this Spring?

Zara Store Opening Perth

You can practically hear the excitement buzzing around Perth.
The epic fashion retailer, Zarahas finally hit our side of the world! The first Zara in Perth opened yesterday at Garden City Shopping Centre. The two-level space not only houses a host of fashion forward women’s clothing and accessories but includes a Men’s and Children’s section too!*

I didn’t make it to the opening yesterday (damn work, ruining my fun!) but I headed there bright and early this morning. By the time I arrived (9:05am!) the store was already packed and by the time I got to the change rooms there was a line of about 20 people! Clearly the people of Perth have been waiting a while for Zara to come our way.
I was definitely impressed with what Zara has to offer and I could have purchased a lot more than I did. With price points mostly around the $49.95-$69.95 mark it was very hard to resist! Luckily for my credit card a few of the items I wanted were sold out in my size already.
So, welcome to Perth Zara, and from now on you can expect to see a lot more Zara in my (and everyone else in Perth’s) wardrobe!

Have you had a chance to get to the store yet? What did you think?

*(But ummm sorry to my daughter and husband because I did not even look in that area, next time I promise!!)

The Edit: Top 10 Festival Must Haves

The ultimate festival guide is here!!

With Splendour in The Grass on this weekend and the Northern Hemisphere smack bang in the middle of their Summer festival season, I thought I would put together a list of my top 10 music festival essentials.

Even though none of these apply to me, (I am stuck on the west coast of Australia!) I actually had a lot of fun compiling this list and it made me even more excited for the upcoming Summer festivals.. you know in a few months time. (Hurry up Summer!)

So here it is. My top 10 festival must haves:

1. The denim short – pretty much a festival staple! Comfy, casual and easy to sit down in!
2. A comfy pair of shoes – You will be on grass and you will be dancing.. all day. Need I say more.
3. A jacket – Even though the sun may be shining during the day (if you are lucky), the temperature will definitely be cooler in the evening.. and the evening sets are always the best so you don’t want to be shivering in a corner somewhere, too cold to enjoy them!
Shop Shorts, Jackets and Shoes Here:

4. Sunglasses – Protect your eyes from the sun and look like a rock star while doing it!!
5. Hat – Yep, another sun protection/style essential item. (I love a good double duty item!)
6. Day bag – Make sure it is big enough for all your essentials but still easy to carry. A cross body satchel or back pack is ideal.
7. Arm Candy – Complete the festival look with loads of bling.

Shop Sunnies, Bags and Hats Here:

8. Sunscreen – This one is practical and very, very necessary. Even if it looks like it will be cloudy/rain, sunscreen is still a definite must.
9. Foundation- A light easy to wear foundation such as a tinted moisturiser is preferable.
10. Lip Balm – There is nothing worse than dry, cracked lips, especially after a whole day of screaming singing along to your favourite tunes!

Shop Sunscreen, Foundation and Lip Balm Here:

So there you have it. Hopefully I have helped you all get festival ready!
Do you agree with my list? Let me know what your ultimate festival essential is!!

The Edit: The Birkenstock

I need help. Well, more specifically, I need your help.
I am completely undecided on how I feel about the shoe of the moment, the Birkenstock.
On one hand I think they are hideous, I mean my Mum has been wearing them for years (no offence Mum!) and I certainly didn’t have an urge to rush out and buy a pair then. But, on the other hand, I see them styled with such perfection that it is hard not to go Birk crazy and get those babies on my feet in them ASAP. (Oh the power of the fashion industry!)
So, over to you, whats your opinion on the humble slide and more importantly, do I need a pair?!

Just in case it’s a unanimous yes, here are some of my top picks:

Many 6160 you had me at hello! Homewares, fashion, furniture, art, vintage and so, so much more! This little creative space in the heart of Fremantle is a world filled with originality.
The Spacemarket team have created a truly unique concept offering local creatives a chance to launch their business and test the waters of retail in Fremantle, meaning every visit is new and exciting with new retailers opening constantly!

On Saturday I was invited along to attend a blogger’s brunch to learn a bit more about what has become of the old Myer building.
We gathered at the Kate and Abel Cafe for pastries and champagne (the perfect start to a Saturday if you ask me!) before heading off on a personalised tour of the building.
Today’s post is from our first stop, the retail space on the ground floor. We were lucky enough to meet and chat with some of the store owners as we wandered through.

Some of my favourite stops along the way include:

 Kate and Abel
What you’ll find: Hats, homewares, gifts and coffee!
On my wishlist: A decorative gold skull.
Hunter Store
What you’ll find: Shoes, accessories and Bite Beauty lipsticks.
On my wishlist: The amazing Ivy Lee metallic gold boots.
Antipodium
What you’ll find: New season and sale stock from Antipodium.
On my wishlist: The sheer, pleated goodness that is the Hot Knife Dress (pictured above).
Peaches and Clean
What you’ll find: Hand-made all natural skin care products.
On my wishlist: The divine smelling lavender, lemon and patchouli soap bar.

There are many, many more so be sure to check out the full list of retailers here.

Studio Bomba is also offering creative workshops during the Winter Weekends series, teaching all sorts of unique crafts and skills.

Lastly… Just in case you are still not convinced you need to check it out, Many 6160 is holding the ‘Blogger Emporium’ on the 5th July. Myself and a whole bunch of Perth bloggers will be once again selling our wares at the giant sale. See poster below for more details and make sure you put the date in your diaries now!!

I swear the majority of my life these days is spent browsing online sales. If I could just get through one day without another ‘50% OFF’ email* I might actually be able to do something productive with my time. Although, lets be truthful here, shopping is actually a very important part of life? Right?!
I’m not really complaining, though. What is not to love about purchasing a luxury item at a heavily discounted price! Stocktake time may just be the best time of the year to update the wardrobe with the designer piece I (oops, I mean you!) have been dreaming about.

As I am spending most of my time browsing the numerous sales anyway, I thought I would put together a list of some of the droolworthy bag and shoe bargains I have come across. You’re welcome!

I am just about to press ‘Buy Now’ on one of theses items. Can you guess which one?

* Not even lying, I received one while typing this. (Sorry, make that two!)
