I remember when I was younger my Nana made my sister and I culotte shorts. At the time we were both mortified when our mum forced us to wear them. Luckily, it was mainly to family occasions to show our appreciation to Nana for the shorts, while secretly hoping she would never make them again.
Fast forward (quite) a few years and here I am showing my appreciation for culottes once again, but this time I am secretly hoping I will be adding a pair to my wardrobe very soon!
It’s funny how our appreciation changes over time isn’t it?!

Steal her style: Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo double denim style

The always on point Olivia Palermo is the ultimate style crush. She nails it every time and has casual chic down to an art. Even more impressive is her ability to rock the double denim so effortlessly!! (Exhibit A, above.) This look is so simple yet so perfect and has me wishing thinking, why can’t I look that cool?!
Well, in an effort to enable us all to ooze the O.P. cool, I have searched high and low to find the perfect pieces to recreate this look.
Thank me later.. when you are looking super chic in your new denim on denim ensemble, that is!

Basic Black Shoes

I recently realised there was a gap in my wardrobe where basic black shoes should be. In fact my whole shoe-drobe needed a bit of an overhaul. I had got to a point where getting dressed all came down to the (lack of) shoes, causing the whole getting ready process to be a lot longer* than necessary.

Enter the three new editions to my wardrobe. The basic slide, the block heel mule and the high heeled slingback. All in black, naturally! With these three additions I feel like I have every occasion covered. Basic black shoes are a wardrobe staple and while I love a good statement shoe, I have finally realised that building a wardrobe around basics is essential. (Wow, how mature of me!!)

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of a new week, I am busy working on lots of exciting things for the blog this week with another beauty review and a new style segment!

Happy Monday!

* I am officially blaming my lack of suitable shoes for my constant lateness, although this is not a guarantee it will change!

10 Black Bags Under $100

Just because it is a wardrobe necessity, the basic black bag doesn’t need to be boring right? It’s all in the details. Gold hardware, embossed detail and a variety of different straps all add an interesting element to an everyday staple. Personally, I love a padlock detail and in terms of size, the bigger the better. (I just have so much ‘stuff’!!)

I have put together my ten favourite black bags under $100 for your shopping pleasure. My little Friday treat for you!

Wearing: Hello Parry SkortHello Parry Shirt, Rubi Heels (similar here), Leather Jacket (similar here).

If you haven’t heard of online fashion store Hello Parry yet, then where have you been?! The Perth based store stocks the coolest range of fashion forward, street style inspired, on trend pieces and is loved by fashionistas everywhere!
I recently picked up a few items from their new Spring range and loved them both so much I wore them together. I love the colour combination of nude and white for Spring. It looks so fresh and stylish and is a great way to test the waters of the current white-on-white trend if you are too scared to wear an all white outfit. (Yep, my hand is up!)

As part of this year’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival Hello Parry will be showcasing the latest Spring collection in their first ever runway show. Is it wrong that this is the show I am most excited about?!
If you are in Perth then head down to Fashion Central at 2:30pm for the show. Did I mention it was FREE!

For all the details head here. Hope to see you there!
