This year PFF will be host to 36 fashion forward events. The festival will run from 19th September until the 25th September and this year includes four stand alone designer showcases, three WA designer capsule shows and a new free event Fashionably Loud combining music and fashion with designers such as Ellery, Story by Tang, Kitty Grace and Belle Bijoux showcasing some of their hottest items to the tunes of San Cisco.
Another new initiative this year is the VIP Closing Night event: Giving Back is the New Black. PFF is teaming up with Ready to Work ( a charity that supports disadvantaged women) for a showcase of WA designers take on the little black dress.

It started with a short collection from each of the three winners from last year (Alissia Gomez, Celene Bridge, Jeromy Lim) which was amazing and even featured a live snake draped over one of the models shoulders. (Brave girl!)
Next up where the entrants in the design categories. The students really let their imagination run free which resulted in some incredibly inspiring designs. It’s hard to believe that these designers are still students and it is so exciting to think what the future holds for these talented, aspiring designers.
Watching this collection made me want to own a piece, so I guess you could say it was a definite success.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any decent photos so all images seen here are courtesy of Simon Santi.
White, bright and sheer. Paper Skye was all about the pure look with the use of sheer, white, textured, fabrics layered over white underwear throughout the whole collection. Long floaty lengths, small pleats and vertical stripes all featured in this immaculate collection. I really loved the white on white look but I was left wondering if it is actually acceptable to wear sheer dresses with only underwear underneath? My question was answered on Sunday night when the stunning face of the Perth Fashion Festival Nicole Trunfio was spotted wearing just that.. so I guess the answer is yes but only if you are a model!
So.. This is what I have been up to for the last three weeks. Travelling around India and experiencing the amazing sights, places and people. We visited gorgeous old palaces in Jaipur, cruised the backwaters on a houseboat in Alleppey, relaxed on the beach in Goa, met some lovely locals in Kovalam and of course, stuffed ourselves on delicious Indian food! This trip was a lot more relaxed than previous trips as we decided to spend a bit more time on the beach doing not much at all.. instead of the usual rush to cram as many places as we can into such a short period of time!! However, we did manage to visit a few places that we haven’t been to before and so we got to experience just a little bit more of Incredible India!!
