Wearing: Mink Pink TopHello Parry Skirt, Betts Boots – sold out (similar here and here), French Connection Bag (similar here)

Every time I wear something by Mink Pink I am transported back to the 90’s.
Being an awkward teenager I went through many (questionable!) fashion stages in the nineties, one of those of course was the ‘Clueless’ phase. My favourite fashion moment of this time was a red, black and white tartan shift dress that I wore with knee high socks. I wore it a lot. I even changed up the knee high socks occasionaly switching from black to white. It was also right around the time I decided I wanted to become a fashion designer and the first piece I ‘designed’ (never quite made it to production!) was a purple cropped t-shirt with a giant velvet, burgundy heart in the front. (Another nod to the iconic movie!)

Although this top by Mink Pink is clearly not influenced by clueless, the 90’s vibe is still strong! I love the high neck and sleeveless style and well, leopard print is my favourite colour. I styled it with a bright skater skirt to complete my trip down memory lane. All that’s missing is the knee highs!

What is your favourite fashion moment of the 90’s?

Who doesn’t love a bit of sheer black lace?

Walking through Myer the other day I noticed a label I hadn’t seen before, Saints + Secrets. I did a double take when I saw this top even though my internal finance department screamed at me to keep walking (I had just been to the new Zara store opening!). My love of lace got the better of me and a purchase was made. I love how the sex appeal of the top is balanced out with the longer sleeves and the lace detailing is just perfection!
I’m quite certain that I made the right decision with this purchase. You can’t go wrong with black and lace, right? I even think my nerdy inner bean counter would agree!

Halfway to the weekend!! We got this!

Monday again! Welcome to a brand new week. Hope everybody had a fabulous weekend!
As I type this I am desperately trying to watch the VMA’s live online which is proving to be very difficult and quite annoying. I just wanna see Bey!!*

Anyway, moving on! Today’s outfit features my new go to black skirt. I only recently realised that there was a gap in my wardrobe where a black skirt was supposed to be. How did I not have a plain black skirt in my wardrobe?! The problem has now been resolved with this asymmetrical skirt by Zalora. I love how the longer length is balanced out with a front split (and did I mention it is under $20!). You will definitely be seeing a lot more of this one!

*UPDATE: I watched it. She killed it!

Zara Store Opening Perth

You can practically hear the excitement buzzing around Perth.
The epic fashion retailer, Zarahas finally hit our side of the world! The first Zara in Perth opened yesterday at Garden City Shopping Centre. The two-level space not only houses a host of fashion forward women’s clothing and accessories but includes a Men’s and Children’s section too!*

I didn’t make it to the opening yesterday (damn work, ruining my fun!) but I headed there bright and early this morning. By the time I arrived (9:05am!) the store was already packed and by the time I got to the change rooms there was a line of about 20 people! Clearly the people of Perth have been waiting a while for Zara to come our way.
I was definitely impressed with what Zara has to offer and I could have purchased a lot more than I did. With price points mostly around the $49.95-$69.95 mark it was very hard to resist! Luckily for my credit card a few of the items I wanted were sold out in my size already.
So, welcome to Perth Zara, and from now on you can expect to see a lot more Zara in my (and everyone else in Perth’s) wardrobe!

Have you had a chance to get to the store yet? What did you think?

*(But ummm sorry to my daughter and husband because I did not even look in that area, next time I promise!!)

Liebster Award

leibster11crop11

I have been nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely Hay Emmy

What the hell is a Leibster Award?? Well, I asked exactly the same question! The Liebster award is an award in the blogging community, given to bloggers by other bloggers. (Nice, huh?) When nominated you must answer 11 questions provided by the nominator and in turn nominate 11 bloggers to answer 11 questions of your choice!
So, here goes..

What are three products you absolutely need in your makeup routine? Concealer (my current favourite is Stila Perfecting Concealer), mascara and brow powder.
What could you eat everyday and never get bored of? Embarrassingly I actually do eat the same thing everyday. I am a bit of a fussy eater and like to eat as healthy as possible, so most meals consist of a different variation of chicken and salad!!
What is your favorite Youtube channel? Oh God, this is even more embarrasing! Fitness Blender. They have the best at-home workouts and so many different types to choose from.
What is your favorite genre of music? Beyoncé is a genre right?!
What is your favorite TV show? At the moment I am thoroughly addicted to the latest season of True Blood.
What was the last movie you watched? It has been so long I honestly can’t remember. I don’t watch movies very often!
What have you always wanted to do but haven’t got around to doing? Travel to New York. One day I will get there!
Name three countries you would like to visit in the future. France, The United States and Greece
What do you like doing in your free time? Apart from blogging! I love to shop, read, wine and dine, watch trashy reality TV, exercise and of course play with my gorgeous daughter!
What color dominates your wardrobe? At the moment there is a lot of white. I can’t seem to get enough. Preparing for the warmer months, clearly!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Doing what I love!!
So there you have it! In turn I nominate the following lovely ladies:

Lei Lady Lei
Modern Girls In Vintage Pearls
Where The Styled Things Are
Nezuki
Little Miss Mon Bon
At Least
A Broke Girls Blog
Jeans and Roses
Illias Fashion
Love Rush
Frilly Skirts

To answer these questions:
1. What is your favourite blog?
2. Why did you start blogging?
3. What is your dream job?
4. Describe your style in three words.
5. What is your favourite online store?
6. What was the last fashion item you bought?
7. What is your must have beauty item?
8. Who is your style icon?
9. What is your favourite food?
10. Describe your ideal Sunday.
11. What is your most treasured item in your wardrobe?

PS. I realise the picture above doesn’t really have anything to do with the questions but while we are getting personal, I thought it would be fun to look back and some of my outfits from past blog posts!!

Just a quick update today as I have pretty much had the busiest weekend ever and my eyes are struggling to stay open as I type! Not only did I have to fit in my social engagements (priorities!), but I also spent all day Saturday and Sunday at the Polka Dot Vintage Markets selling my vintage collection.

This was an outfit from last weekend. I had a bit of a light bulb moment when getting ready after discarding yet another crop top and jean combo due to inappropriate belly exposure. Why not add a hint of lace to cover the gap? Genius, right?! So that’s exactly what I did!
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Off to bed for me.. see you soon Monday!

Wearing: ASOS Denim JeansH and M Denim Shirt (Similar here and here), Leather Jacket (Similar here), Betts bootsSaint Laurent Clutch.

Denim on denim has almost become a fashion lover’s style staple these days. Gone are the days where wearing double anything was considered a fashion faux pas, and I couldn’t be happier.
I love a good matching outfit (see the evidence here and here!) and matching denim with denim is no exception!
These denim jeans from ASOS are a recent purchase and I have to say one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I own. I could practically wear them every day. (Ok, so I kind of do!) I wore them with this H and M shirt that I picked up at a recent blogger garage sale for $2! The best two dollars I’ve ever spent, I reckon!

What do you think? Do you dare to double up your denim?
