I recently received quite a few pieces from online retailer Pretty Little Thing, so today I thought I would do a review of the store and the pieces I received…
Now if you haven’t heard of Pretty Little Thing, it is an online store offering of-the-minute trend pieces and celeb inspired style (basically everything you need to dress like Kim K!) They have a huge range though, so if celeb style is not your thing there are still plenty of ‘normal’ everyday pieces too! They offer lots of going out party styles but also plenty of casual pieces, including some very cool denim styles! (The first thing I checked obviously!) Their sizing ranges from a 4 to a 24 too, with a petite range, a shape range and a plus size range. From my experience the shipping was fairly quick.. although being from Perth I am used to my parcels taking anywhere from 7-14 days to arrive!
This Black Spot Skirt was something I just had to have.. even though they didn’t have it in my size and I had to order a smaller size! Something I regretted as soon as I tried it on.. the length is very short! Doh! I still love it though and do wear it when sitting is not required! The material is very lightweight too and it is a teensy bit see through as well.
The Ezrie Lace Bodysuit has been a great addition to my wardrobe. The lace pattern is sooo pretty and it is perfect for layering under blazers and jackets. It is fully sheer though so you will need to wear a bra underneath! I have worn this one out for a date night with jeans and heels too.
I got the Roxina Bandage Dress in Camel to wear to a wedding and was so impressed! This dress was priced a little higher than most on the site but for the quality, it was totally worth it. The fit was perfect and the fabric was nice and thick and very ‘bandage’ like! I would highly recommend this one, it comes in a ton of colours too! Now I’m just waiting for the next fancy occasion so I can wear it again!
I was a bit disappointed in the Elisse Bow Midi Dress. This was intended to be worn for a wedding too but unfortunately the fit and quality were not great so I actually am yet to wear this one at all. The side split is way to high for my liking, the material is cheap and the fit is quite uncomfortable (you spend the whole time pulling it up at the top and down at the bottom!) There is no zip and you basically pull it up to get it on, which I guess explains the terrible fit!
Out of all the items I ordered… surprise, surprise, I have worn the Denim Frill Skirt the most. The high-waisted, style makes it so easy to pair with all my cute Summer tops (and my go-to white t-shirt!) and the lightweight denim makes it comfortable to wear! As with the other skirt I ordered, it is quite short too but other than that I would definitely recommend this one!
My top tips for shopping at Pretty Little Thing…
The biggest thing I would say is that obviously you get what you pay for. Yes they have some super cheap pieces on the site but from my experience the cheaper pieces were not very well made. I would recommend staying away from these and looking at some of the more expensive options on the site (although most things are fairly affordable anyway!)
Also, they always have a % off sale on regardless of what the countdown timer tells you! However they do change the discount offered occasionally. Generally the sales range from 30% off to 50% off.. so if you hold out until the right day you can get your order for half price!
Overall Rating: 7/10
Let me know if you want to see more reviews like this.. obviously I shop like it’s a national sport so have had experiences with plenty of online stores and would love to share them with you!
