The two pieces you need to nail effortless weekend style..
If you followed my insta stories, you would have seen that on Friday I spent the night at the super luxurious new Crown Towers with my family, it was so lovely just to escape into complete luxury, even if was only for one night! On Saturday we travelled down to Bunbury for a friends engagement party, then straight back to Perth on Sunday afternoon for a quick photo shoot followed by some well deserved couch time! Phew!
Speaking of weekends, today’s look is the perfect example of my typical weekend style. The two pieces that are essential to casual, cool (and comfy!) weekend style also happen to be my two faaaavourite things: denim and leather. Although, truthfully my whole style is kind of ‘weekend casual’ so denim and leather are a huge part of my everyday style too!
A few years ago I made the (genius, if you ask me!) decision to purchase a leather jacket. It was probably the first time I purchased something that expensive but it is still the most worn piece in my wardrobe to this day, so definitely not a decision I regret. I highly recommend adding a quality leather jacket to your wardrobe, if you don’t have one already. It is a classic piece that never goes out of style, and goes with anything and everything!
Another good one to invest in, but as some denim trends do come and go, you can afford to add some cheaper ‘on trend’ pieces too. I would advise investing in a good quality skinny leg pair in blue or black (or both!) and maybe a relaxed boyfriend style, though. I think with denim also, when you find that brand/pair that you love or that fits perfectly then stick with it.. denim jeans and shorts can be a bit tricky to get right sometimes! I wear a LOT of One Teapspoon because I have a thing for perfectly distressed denim, but I also have a couple of cheap trend pieces that I am living in at the moment. (This Forever 21 pair are my current crush!)
