Bell Sleeves… why you need them now!
Have you noticed that sleeves just keep on getting bigger and longer? The trend that continues to make it’s mark, the bell sleeve is not going anywhere just yet. Adding that dramatic flair (see what I did there!) to your outfit via a giant oversized sleeve is the easiest and chicest way to be on trend this Spring.
How to style the bell sleeve?
While bell sleeves were originally reserved for channelling that floaty, boho 70’s style, the modern take on the trend sees even the most elegant, sophisticated pieces adopting a bit of oversized sleeve action. This sleek, cut-out jacket is a great example of a modern day adaption of the trend. I wore it with a cami underneath and teamed it with trashed, black skinny jeans to dress it down slightly, but could easily wear it open over a fitted LBD for a night time look.
The best part about the bell sleeve is that it really can be styled in so many ways. If boho is your thing then go for a cream, flowy mini dress with a flared bell sleeve and wear it with lace up sandals, or if you are more of modern minimalist then a tailored black top with a defined bell sleeve paired with a pair of white skinny pants and strappy heels may be more your thing. For a daytime casual look, find a lace up long sleeve top with a flared sleeve, or my favourite style at the moment, an off the shoulder ruffle sleeve top… wear them with denim shorts and sandals or jeans and sneakers for a casual and comfy look.
