The first day of Winter and today’s outfit is not exactly very Wintery! Plenty of time for that though.. three long months in fact! Urghhh! Anyone else dislike Winter as much as I do?! What makes it even more unpleasant is seeing the other half of the world heading in to Summer and RUBBING IT IN OUR FACES! haha That’s ok payback will be coming..
Instead of making this an ‘I hate Winter’ post (it kind of is already, isn’t it?!) I thought I would share one of my favourite purchases so far this Winter. (And by this Winter, I obviously mean earlier in the year.. because doesn’t everyone start prepping their Winter wardrobes in the middle of Summer?) This H & M military style blazer was a purchase I made while holidaying in KL in January (yep, the middle of Summer!) and has got to be my favourite Winter piece. The tailored fit and the gold buttons. I am obsessed. In fact I was hoping to add another similar jacket to my collection over the weekend while shopping with Miss Z but while we were in the changeroom she piped up with a ‘Mum, you have a jacket exactly like that at home’. Sigh.. she still has a lot to learn that child, the jacket I was trying on was black and this one is navy! Urghh honestly.. the things I have to deal with! Regardless, I put it back and will hopefully return without the sensible fashionista in tow..
Anyway the point of my story was: add a military style blazer (or two!) to your wardrobe, you won’t regret it.They are great paired with casual outfits such as jeans and a top, giving an effortless polished edge to your look, or are dressy enough for a special occasion, worn caped over a fitted dress!
On another note..here is a fun fact for you: Those who have followed this blog for a long time will know, that I used to have an online Vintage store selling vintage clothing and accessories. I had a market stall set up here in Perth too and loved scouring through opshops to find that perfect vintage piece. This Louis Vuitton backpack was one of my finds. Possibly my best score ever for the $30 price tag it had. I don’t really wear it too much anymore but can’t seem to part with it either!
