Spring is here, and you know what that means.. Spring racing season is not far behind it.

Spring is one of my favourite seasons of the year, the sunshine returns after months of cold and rain, the flowers bloom and the excitement for the Summer months ahead builds! Another reason I love Spring is the glitz and glam the Spring racing season brings. I personally love to get inspired by the gorgeous race day looks.. and who doesn’t love a day out at the races?!

Today I have put together my own take on Spring Racing style. Personally I like to keep my look very simple, I just don’t get the whole over-the-top fascinator thing and prefer to stick to a beautiful headpiece instead! At the moment Grecian inspired headpieces are popping up everywhere, I picked this one up from Lovisa (for under $20!) and they had such a good selection to choose from. A lot of them can be worn either across the top of your head or around the back (like I have done here!) for a more subtle look.

I opted for a simple dress too! An elegant fitted midi dress, like this one from  Staple The Label , is the perfect style for the races. The subtle floral pattern is so pretty, I love the little pops of colour and also the cut-out detail which adds a fun element to the dress! As for the shoes, comfort should be a bit of a priority at the races (can’t believe I am saying that.. fashion first always!) the most amazing pair of stilletos will not look so amazing when you are holding them in your hands halfway through the day! Luckily for me these nude pumps are actually super comfortable, apart from the fact that I will need to steer clear of the grass, I suppose! I went for a clutch bag with a strap too, to free up your hands for champagne and food obviously! Finish the look with some simple jewellery pieces, a fine cuff, and some stackable rings, and you are ready to RACE!

OH hey there you hot lil’ mumma! Totally agree with the understated headpiece as opposed to an OTT fascinator – a much more elegant racing look. The colours in the dress look beautiful on you too!
