I never thought I would be writing a post about beer, but here we are. A post about beer. Well, more precisely a post about ‘Brews in the Beer Garden’ a beer degustation, if you will, hosted recently in The Boulevard Hotel’s luscious beer garden.
Neville* and I went along last week to experience a taste (see what I did there!) of The Boulevard Hotel’s renowned hospitality. We were treated to a look at their new head chef Mathew Powell’s Autumn menu with four delicious courses (The roast courgette, red pepper & pecorino arancini’s come highly recommended!!) each carefully paired with beers from select boutique breweries, including Eagle Bay, Pirate Life, Camden Town, Young Henry’s, Colonial, Custard & Co, Little Creatures and Batlow Cider Co.
Now, I am not the biggest beer fan (or to be really honest not a beer fan at all!) but I gave every beer a try and I have to say I didn’t hate it! The effort and care that obviously goes into every beer creation means that they taste good… whatever your beer palate!
So, after subjecting my tastebuds to a multitude of different ales, lagers, ciders and probably the one I liked the most, a IIPA I guess you could say I am a fully fledged beer connoisseur… well almost!!
